Baracuta - a legend is born!?!?

In 1937 John and Isaac Miller realised a dream – to design a new revolutionary jacket. They designed a rainproof coat that has become the world’s most famous jacket – the Harrington G9.

The Harrington G9 has now obtained legendary status after being worn by everybody from Elvis Presley and Steve McQueen to Frank Sinatra.

Legend has it that the G9 earned the nickname Harrington because it was worn by the character Rodney Harrington played by Ryan O’Neal in the 1960s television programme Peyton Place.

The G9 still turns heads today and has been worn by bands such as Franz Ferdinand and Razorlight. The jacket even features in a well known va va vroom advertising campaign staring Thierry Henry and a certain make of car!!!

We have this famous jacket in stock now so check out our website at http://www.lapelclothing.co.uk/ and grab a piece of history for yourself!?!?

May I formally introduce Mr Smith?!?!?

Paul Smith’s introduction into fashion was completely accidental. At the age of 16, with no career plans or qualifications, he was propelled by his father into a job at the local clothing warehouse in his native Nottingham.

Within two years, Paul Smith was managing his first boutique in Nottingham and opened a tiny shop in 1970. Paul started to take evening classes for tailoring and by 1976 Paul showed his first menswear collection in Paris under the Paul Smith label.

Within 20 years of his introduction to fashion Paul Smith had established himself as the pre-eminent British designer. Paul Smith has the ability to anticipate, and even spark off trends.

Paul Smith continues to be an integral part of the company; he is both designer and chairman, and so Paul Smith Limited retains a personal touch often lost in companies of a similar size.

Lapel stock many great items in this range. To view the full collection, check out our website at www.lapelclothing.co.uk where you will find Paul Smith as well as many other brands.
