The Polo Shirt - the comeback kid of men's fashion!?!

They can be classic, retro or cutting edge but whatever your choice the humble polo shirt is making a comeback in a big way!?!?

Not every day requires you to be dressed to the nines, so for those times when the look you’re going for is decidedly casual opt for a cotton
polo. On weekends and in the summer, the polo shirt looks amazing simply paired with jeans or combat shorts, and when you need to take things up a notch, throw on a stylish jacket to create an ensemble that exudes effortless cool.

The
polo shirt really is your flexible friend when it comes to dressing up or dressing down your outfit, and for that added bonus - its comfortable to wear as well!?!?

Lapels stock a huge range of polo shirts to suit every occasion, so why not check out our website at www.lapelclothing.co.uk and see what all the fuss is about?!?

Limited edition snowboard by Paul Smith!?!

Paul Smith has been invited by the Victoria and Albert museum to showcase some of his designs at the Fashion v Sport exhibition now showing at the museum. The exhibition looks at the creative connections between fashion and sport as these days sportswear is seriously cool.
One of the products featured will be a limited edition snowboard featuring a flying carpet print, inspired by a photograph taken by Paul’s father, who was a keen amateur photographer.

Sportswear has become an essential part of the modern wardrobe. Trainers and tracksuits are often more readily worn than suits, and high performance textiles developed for competition are being integrated into high-end fashion. Fashion V Sport examines the way that sports styles are adapted to make fashion statements, both on the street and through high fashion, and how sports and fashion products are consumed, customised and worn.

For full details of the new exhibit visit the Victoria and Albert website at

These boots are made for walking!??!

Every journey has a beginning and the Timberland journey began in 1952 when Nathan Swartz bought a half interest in the Abington Shoe Company. Three years later he bought the remaining share of the company and the Timberland brand was born. In 1973, the company began manufacturing its first guaranteed waterproof leather boots and shoes under the Timberland brand name, and in 1978, the name of the company was officially changed to The Timberland Company.

Timberland manufactures shoes and clothes, but is probably most well known for the distinctive Timberland boot that gets instant recognition by people across the world.

We are lucky enough to stock the very latest range of
Timberland footwear so why not check out our website at www.lapelclothing.co.uk and let us know what you think!!

Bing Crosby and Pete the Penguin!??!

Penguin clothing was first seen in 1955 when Munsingwear – an underwear and military supply company based in Minneapolis – introduced the first iconic golf shirt to America. The shirt was an instant golf classic thanks to a ribbed slice of fabric on the underarm to avoid rips during even the most enthusiastic of golf swings!?!?

The now famous
Penguin logo came about when a salesman spotted a flock of penguins in the window of a New York taxidermist, and bought one of the birds. Before long, ‘Pete’ the penguin had become the official mascot and logo of all golf shirts!!!

Penguin became a wardrobe staple during the 1980’s after regularly being worn by celebrities such as Arnold Palmer, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby and Richard Nixon. In 2003, the original Penguin was redesigned after retro-fashion hit the headlines again. The new range of Penguin menswear is designed for the younger and more fashion conscious consumer and has now become a legend in its own right!!!

The very latest
Penguin designs are available now on our website at www.lapelclothing.co.uk so why not take a look today???
