Instant Replay!?!

The Italian brand of Replay was founded by Claudio Buziol in 1978 under the Fashion Box Industries umbrella. The company initially specialised in casual shirts and by 1987 had become an international success.

In 1989
Replay reinvented the humble pair of jeans with its ‘double ring denim’ and sales of the new designer jeans reached a million pairs in just 2 years.

By 1991 a complete range of clothing was being manufactured with a new children’s range being added to the portfolio, and by 1995 it was estimated that a new
Replay store opened every 10 days around the world.

The company celebrated its 25th anniversary during 2006 and proved that
Replay clothing is definitely here to stay!!! We are very proud to stock this stylish Italian brand at Lapel so why not check out our website at www.lapelclothing.co.uk and see the range for yourself?!!?

Mr Klein I presume!??!

Calvin Klein is one of the leading fashion design studios in the world. The story began in 1968 when Calvin Klein opened his first coat shop within the York Hotel based in New York. Less than a year later he was featured on the front cover of Vogue magazine and described as ‘the supreme master of minimalism’.

The
Calvin Klein portfolio continued to grow and a new underwear line was introduced. During the nineties ‘Marky Mark’ pop singer Mark Wahlberg was featured in a series of ads wearing nothing but the underwear. This campaign proved so successful that underpants even became generally known as ‘calvins’.

Lapel Clothing has this iconic underwear available. To view the full collection, check out our website at www.lapelclothing.co.uk where you will find Calvin Klein as well as many other brands.

Anyone for tennis?!??

In 1966, Sergio Tacchini, a leading Italian tennis player, set out with an innovative idea to conquer the sport clothing and footwear markets.

Tacchini began by supplying clothing for his former team mates with the aim of breaking the traditional taboos and putting colour on to the tennis court.

The 1970’s saw coloured tennis clothing hit Wimbledon running and the phenomenon quickly gathered speed. During this time clever sponsorship placed the brand on the international market with stars such as John McEnroe, Ille Nastase, Pat Cash, Pete Sampras and Gabriela Sabatini all on board.

The mid-eighties saw Sergio Tacchini issue the "Dallas" tracksuit. Simple in design, it went on to become one of the decade's most recognisable items of clothing.

The latest range of Sergio Tacchini sportswear takes inspiration from the vintage tracksuit and puts a modern twist on a classic design!!! Here at Lapel we stock the very best designs by Sergio Tacchini so why not check out our website at www.lapelclothing.co.uk to see for yourself??

The smile of a crocodile!?!

The true story of the crocodile dates back to 1927 and began as the nickname of Rene Lacoste. Rene was nicknamed 'the alligator' by the American press after a bet he made with the Captain of the French Davis Cup team concerning a suitcase made from alligator skin.

In 1933, Rene Lacoste and Andre Gillier, the owner and chairman of France's largest knitwear manufacturing firm at the time, set up a company to make the logo embroidered shirt designed by the champion for use on his own tennis court.

The shirt immediately revolutionised mens sportswear, replacing the woven fabric and starched shirts which players had worn on court until that time. The first Lacoste shirt had a ribbed collar and short sleeves and was made of a light knitted fabric called 'Jersey Petit Pique'. The qualities of comfort on which it built its name still shine through today, providing a different and truely unique product.

Here at Lapel, we recognise a true legend when we see it, so check out our selection of timeless Lacoste Polo Shirts and other products at www.lapelclothing.co.uk
